Disney On Ice: Follow Your Heart

Opening Night at Staples Center

By Chanin Victor December 16, 2017

Our family has been going to Disney on Ice for the last 5 years and we've always enjoyed the shows.  This year I can proudly say that Disney On Ice has outdone themselves!  It was one of the best shows we have seen.  All the favorites were still there, but they added some new characters to the cast, which we loved!  The show opened with the "emotions" from INSIDE OUT discussing what to do about Riley.  They went through some of her memories as scenes from different beloved Disney movies were acted and skated.  Beauty and the Beast, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella, and Mickey's Fantasia were all performed with multi-media screens behind them and it was really fun to watch!

It was when the princesses came out that every single child sat up and scooted towards the edge of their seats with excitement!  They were totally captivated.  Every princess performed her own skating dance and some added aerial acrobatics with their skating which really took the show to the next level!  The girls were out of control with excitement!

Look for some of my videos from the show on our FACEBOOK page.

The second half of the show performed mini-movies of NEMO, TOY STORY, and the finale of course, which was FROZEN

As much as my daughter and her friend insisted that they were over FROZEN in the car ride to the Staples Center, you can be sure that when Anna and Elsa came out, they were captivated!  When "Let It Go" came on and Elsa did her solo skating dance, you could hear the entire audience singing along.

It was a magical, and very late night for our kiddos, but they loved every minute of the show and as a parent who goes to these things constantly, I really appreciated how Disney On Ice put in the extra effort and made it one spectacular evening for kids and kid-ults of all ages!

Disney On Ice will be at the Staples Center until December 17th.  Then it will be at the Honda Center in Anaheim from December 20-December 24.  Then it will be in the Long Beach Arena from December 27 - January 1st.  You can purchase tickets for any of these shows HERE!
