By Chanin Victor September 13, 2017

 Hi everyone,

Back-To-School is official now; almost everyone has started the new school year.  If your child is Preschool age though, you may still be wondering what to do for that very important first step.  The Santa Monica Preschool Fair is on Saturday, September 23rd from 10AM-1PM and will have a ton of important information for you and your family. For more information, visit "bit.ly/mypreschoolfair".

The weekend of September 23 and 24 is also the FINAL SHOWS of Annie Oakley at the Santa Monica Playhouse.  Showtimes are Saturday and 2PM and Sunday at 12:30PM.  You have this weekend and the next left before it is Annie gets her gun and Goes bye-bye!  Ticket information is HERE!  Don't miss this great show!   Also, mark your calendars, the SoCal Boat Show runs from September 28th - October 1st and I will have a 4 pack of tickets to giveaway soon.  Look for details on how you could win them.  You can also buy tickets HERE!

Looking at this upcoming weekend, one of my favorite movies of all time,  E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial remains one of the highest-grossing films in movie history, and Fathom Events and the TCM Big Screen Classics Series bring the film to more than 600 movie screens nationwide, giving families and friends the chance to view the magical adventure together.  The classic 1980s story of childhood adventure and fantasy told in Steven Spielberg's unique cinematic style, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial has brought families together for decades -- and now comes a rare opportunity to see the film that started it all on the big screen, in its original 1982 theatrical version.

  •  WHEN: Sunday, September 17 – 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. (local time) and Wednesday, September 20 – 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. (local time)

  • WHERE: Tickets for E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial can be purchased online by visiting FathomEvents.com or at participating theater box offices. Fans throughout the U.S. will be able to enjoy the event in nearly 700 select movie theaters through Fathom’s Digital Broadcast Network. For a complete list of theater locations visit the Fathom Events website (theaters and participants are subject to change).

You can also get your workout on every Saturday morning at the Santa Monica Pier with ROGA.  The Autry Museum in Griffith Park also has 2 new exhibits starting along and it is a really awesome museum to take your kids and explain California history and Western Heritage.  At the Museum of Tolerance, "Students Rebuild", will hold an opening event for a new art installation telling the story of young Syrian refugees. All ages welcome. The interactive museum installation, designed by elementary school students, was created using pinwheels submitted by youth around the world for the Students Rebuild Healing Classrooms Challenge in support of Syrian refugee youth. The installation is designed to be a learning tool that tells the story of young Syrian refugees and the young people who mobilized to support them.

Finally, this weekend and throughout the month of October, you might want to check out the L.A. ZOO because so much has been happening there, including 2 new Monkey babies, a new Sea Lion baby, a new giraffe and a new Snow Cub baby.  Don't forget BOO AT THE L.A. ZOO -- TREATS GUESTS TO FANG-TASTIC HALLOWEEN FUN THROUGHOUT OCTOBER WITH AN ALL-NEW “NOCTURNAL ADVENTURE” MAZE, PUMPKIN CARVING, PUPPET SHOWS, CRAFTS, SPECIAL ANIMAL FEEDINGS, AND MORE.  Fill Every Day in October With Spooktacular Activities -- October 1 through 31, 2017 (10 am – 4 pm) Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens.

Thinking ahead to the fall season, I’ve got a wonderful event to get you in the spirit. Families love the Harvest Festival Original Art & Craft Show, the premier indoor/outdoor art and entertainment celebration coming to the Ventura Fairgrounds Oct. 6-8. Catering to parents and kids with something fun happening for everyone, each showcase features hundreds of exhibitors, specialty foods you can nibble samples of, live entertainment (including a comedy juggler), contests, and a fun interactive Kidzone complete with free make ‘n’ take crafts and a pumpkin patch.  Here’s a link to a quick look at what’s in store!  If anyone is interested in FREE tickets to go to this event, please let me know HERE!

A full October Calendar is coming up so I will keep you posted on all the fun things to do with your family!

XO,

Chanin
