Fam-to-Table Family Baking Experience Benefits No Kid Hungry

LG LAUNCHES PROBAKE CONVECTION RANGES AT CULINARY EVENT HOSTED BY EVA LONGORIA

August 26, 2015

Celebrity restaurateur, cookbook author and award-winning actress Eva Longoria joined LG Electronics USA over the weekend to celebrate the launch of LG’s new ranges with ProBake Convection™ technology, a groundbreaking innovation that helps consumers bake like professionals in their own kitchens.

Longoria hosted fellow Hollywood insiders including Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting and Ryan Sweeting, Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott, Jesse Metcalfe, Cara Santana, Lou Diamond Phillips and Dre Davis, among others, at a fun-filled family afternoon complete with interactive culinary demonstrations, cooking activities and games, while supporting No Kid Hungry, a campaign of anti-hunger organization Share Our Strength that connects children in need with nutritious food and empowers families across the country to cook healthy, affordable meals together.

VIP guests of all ages at the “LG Fam-to-Table Series: ProBake Edition” event experi-enced first-hand the benefits of LG’s newest ProBake range series, which incorporates professional convection technology to deliver perfect baking on every rack, every time*. Activities tailored for the whole family included pizza and flatbread baking, cake and cookie decorating, a themed photo booth and more – all designed to encourage friends and families to cook together and eat together.

Incorporated across LG’s new series of six electric and gas ranges, the innovative ProBake Convection technology means today’s home chefs never have to worry about uneven cooking results again. Inspired by pro-style ranges, LG moved the heating ele-ment from the bottom of the oven to the back wall to achieve optimal heating distribution and consistent browning on the top and bottom of every dish, from savory dinners to delectable desserts.

“At LG, we’re dedicated to creating appliances that help families better manage their households and busy lives while also encouraging family time and togetherness,” said David VanderWaal, vice president of marketing for LG Electronics USA. “With the debut of LG ProBake Convection technology, we want to inspire home chefs to broaden their culinary horizons and create memorable meals with the people they love, just as Eva has done through her cookbook and restaurant.”

Longoria took center stage and lent her culinary expertise as attendees enjoyed live demonstrations, which featured palatable recipes from her New York Times bestselling cookbook, Eva’s Kitchen: Cooking with Love for Family and Friends. Executive chef Angel Estrada from the Los Angeles-based restaurant Beso, co-owned by Longoria, also joined the main stage to help prepare signature recipes.

“One of my greatest passions is being able to cook with those I love and create warm memories together over food,” said Longoria. “I come from a tight-knit family where we value the importance of gathering for meals and celebrations, and I’m thrilled to join LG to encourage families to do the same, all while benefitting such a fantastic cause.”

Supporting No Kid Hungry, LG helped give back to the community by encouraging guests to host their own ‘ProBake sales’ in their communities using kits provided to all event attendees. Since the campaign’s launch, No Kid Hungry and its partners have con-nected kids struggling with hunger with more than 345 million additional meals.
