The Penguins of Madagascar In LA

Win a family 4 pack to the Aquarium on the Pacific

By Courtney Lewis November 13, 2014

Last week DreamWorks Animation and 20th Century Fox invited us to join the super spy team of Penguins of Madagascar at the Long Beach Aquarium.

Rico, Skipper, Kowalski and Private were all there as well as Tom McGrath (aka the voice of Skipper and the Executive Producer of PENGUINS OF MADAGASCAR) to not only celebrate the release of their own new feature film PENGUINS OF MADAGASCAR which open November 26th, but to help name one of the new baby penguins at the Aquarium.

We were given a special tour of the Aquarium's amazing Penguin habitats, and got to meet the new penguin chicks. Named after the famous fearless leader Skipper is one of four penguin chicks (two males and two females) born at the Aquarium of the Pacific in June 2014.
His parents are Roxy and Floyd. After he hatched out of his egg on June 27 in the nest burrow his parents were using in the June Keyes Penguin Habitat, husbandry staff members cared for him and the other chicks behind the scenes, teaching them to be hand-fed fish. Once the chicks fledged, they were ready to join the rest of the penguins in the exhibit. They went on public view this fall. I think the staff at the Aquarium must be fans of the Madagascar Films because they set up  penguin webcams, where website visitors can view the birds 24/7. You can check out what they are up to right now

The PENGUINS OF MADAGASCAR have their own trailer  Watch it Here

The party was a blast with snow cones, cupcakes, face-painting crafts and learning the new dance The Penguin Shake. We even got to see a special sneak peak of the film, and it was hilarious. The boys have been quoting it all week, the penguin voices are the most fun to do, even I can do a good impression of them. Tom McGrath, the voice of Skipper and the Executive Producer of the films ,shared with us how fun it was giving these Penguins their own movie and how the Penguins almost didn't even make it into the movie but in true Hollywood style ended up stealing the movie and the audiences hearts.

We have a family 4-pack of tickets to the Aquarium of the Pacific to give away to a lucky Penguin Fan. Please leave a comment below telling us what you would name a baby penguin. Winner will be chosen by random.org Nov. 20, 2014 and notified by email. Click here for complete rules
