Doc McStuffins Comes to Disney Junior March 23rd

Screening Party & Review

March 15, 2012

Being able to captivate 15 kids ranging in age from 18 months to 9 years-old at the fabulous indoor playground Bubbles  is not easy, but Disney Junior's newest show, Doc McStuffins, did just that! The kids couldn't wait to watch the sneak peek - many have been anxiously awaiting the show which premieres this Friday, March 23rd on Disney Junior.  The theme song came on and cute little Dottie "Doc" McStuffins and her stuffed animal friends appeared on screen and the kids were hooked. They watched two episodes intently, giggling throughout; there was even some dancing when the songs came on.

Doc McStuffins is a sweet little girl who loves helping her family, friends and toys. Once she puts on her magical stethoscope in her backyard clinic she is able to talk to her stuffed animals and with the help of her trusty friends and "staff" - Stuffy (a dragon), Lambie (a lamb), Hallie (a hippopotamus), and Chilly (a snowman) - they are able to treat the ailments of the toys that are not feeling so great. By asking questions, and doing some investigating, Doc and her friends are able to diagnose the problem and come up with a treatment like taking a bath, getting more sleep or eating a healthy snack for a recharge.

While the kids enjoyed Popchips and pizza donated by Fresh Brothers, I asked them what they liked most about the show. The talking toys ranked high with the older boys, while the girls really liked Doc herself. They all liked the songs and thought Doc was "very cool" and wanted to be friends with her.

What the moms liked most about the show was that it was sweet but not corny, and that it taught lessons on good health and helping others.  I also love the fact that Doc's mom is a doctor.

The kids all left the party with a Doc McStuffins gift bag filled with stickers and a poster from Disney Junior, a ball from UCLA Family Commons, goodies from Macaroni Kid and info and coupons from our friends at Clean Bee Baby, Club MomMe, Super Soccer Stars and Stella & Dot. We had a great time and want to thank all the friends, old and new, that were there. See more of the photos HERE taken by the talented Misty Michelle. Be sure to check out Doc McStuffins when it premieres on Friday, March 23 on Disney Junior and let us know what you think.

In conjunction with the premiere on March 23, DisneyJunior.com will debut a "Doc McStuffins" supersite featuring an interactive clinic where kids can assist Doc in nurturing toys back to health, three new online games and "Doc McStuffins"-themed crafts. A "Doc McStuffins" character gallery and clips are currently available at www.DisneyJunior.com/Doc.
