The boys and I had fun making these 4th of July Popsicle Stick Flags. It was a pretty easy craft with not too much clean up. They got to paint and use glue so they were happy. The only tricky part are the stars so I ended up doing them because the boys got frustered. When we make more I'm going to get stickers.
You will need:
- Jumbo popsicle sticks
- Red, white & blue paint
- Paint brushes
- Tape (masking or packing)
- White school glue
- A toothpick or fine paintbrush
Directions:
- Divide up your popsicle sticks. For each flag you will need 3 red, 2 white whole sticks and 3 half blue sticks
- Paint the sticks
- Let them dry, it shouldn't take to long
- Cut the blue sticks in half
- Lay out the red & white sticks like the flag, then flip them over and tape the back, I used clear packing tape.
- Glue the cut blue sticks to the red & white sticks
- Paint the stars on the blue sticks (or you could use stickers)
