Finding the right school in West LA to send your children to can be one of the most stressful times for your family. You worry about what their learning style is, what the teachers are like, the parents, the cost. There are so many rumors flying around and everyone has an opinion and story to share. I was so excited to finally meet Christina Simon, one of the co-author of the book this week. Christina and I email each other, are Facebook friends and run in some of the same circles but the stars aligned this week and we were able to actually meet up on Monday at Mommy Night at Bubbles Salon and Indoor Playground. I say the stars aligned because right now finding the right kindergarden and elementary school is the HOT topic with all my friends. We all start out having fun and chit-chatting together, but then the mood turns serious when someone mentions they went on a tour or asks the difference between a charter or a magnet school. We laugh about the interview process and what our children will say when asked questions, but really it is pretty nerve racking. Christina is the the friend with great advice who has been there done that with her own family but also helps countless others.
