Waterworks Swim School

A Macaroni Kid Review

By Courtney Lewis- Sponsored Post July 1, 2015

The first week of summer my two boys started at the newly opened Waterworks Swim School at LA Fitness on Bundy. Waterworks Swim Schools has been awarded "Best Swim Classes in Orange County" by Parenting OC Magazine for six consecutive years, so I was excited to see what they were bringing to us on here on the Westside.

My kids love to swim and will stay in the water all day. We are planning on doing lots of swimming this summer and I wanted them to improve their swimming strength and technique but also learn water safety skills .

We were able to sign up for classes for the boys at the same time with different instructors , which you know is a really big deal if you have ever had to keep the child that wasn’t having their lesson out of the pool and entertained. The boys had the same instructors for all their lessons , so they were very comfortable and made a lot of progress. They didn’t have to waste any time trying to figure out what they needed to work on.  I  was also extremely  impressed with the professionalism of the 2 instructors we had, Siena & Zachary.   At other swim schools we have been to it felt like it was more of a social time for the instructors then a swim class for the kids.

With each lesson I saw improvement and confidence in the kids swimming . The instructors gave them directions and taught them techniques that I couldn’t do with them. Water safety was reinforced each lesson.  I asked Siena, who worked with my 4 year old why they spent so much time having him learn to float on his back and being comfortable doing this and she explained that they teach the kids to do this if they get into trouble while swimming .  I have now seen my son put the back float technique to use a few times in the pool when he realizes he has gotten a little too deep.

We are very happy with Waterworks Swim School - the kids are learning and loving every minute of it.
