National Geographic Toys by Uncle Milton

Macaroni Kid Review

August 30, 2012

For the last week of our  Uncle Milton's National Geographic toy review, we got to check out their Indoor Toys and Wild Games collection - I think this was my favorite week. We had beautiful puzzles to do, and cool card games.

Our family's favorite was the Nat Geo Wild Wild Card Games (see above). It is packaged in a nice tin case which will definitely hold up over time and keep the cards from getting lost or bent. Included are four card games, animal style! The cards are oversized (great for little hands!) and the set includes the following games: Crazy Apes (Crazy Eights), Go Divin' (Go Fish), Old Ellie (Old Maid) and King of the Jungle (War). As I write this, I can honestly tell you we have spent a solid hour TODAY alone playing Go Divin'. It's a big hit around here and will be great for your kids ages 4 and up. Seeing the photos of the animals in addition to just a number finally made the games "click" for him. We had tried playing them before with a regular deck and he just wasn't grasping it and would give up. The animals made it more fun for both of us.

The puzzles were not only beautiful, we made a big foil peacock one which just shimmered with color, but they were also very creative too. The penguin puzzle had 3 different difficulty levels that all connected to form 1 large puzzle. We had a great time putting them together...again and again.

Santa Monica Macaroni Kid received toys to write the review but the opinions are my own.
