Don't miss this show! The Lythgoe Family Production of Princess and Pirates Sing-A-Long Concert is absolutely wonderful! We saw the play twice last weekend because they boys (and I) loved it so much, they wanted to go again. The show is smart and very funny. Parents and kids really get to join in boo-ing the bad guys,  and cheering for love and there is LOTS of singing. My kids told me to "please not sing so loud", but it is so hard when they are playing Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Pharrell. They even give you the words, so really how can you not? Lots of the kids come dressed up in Princess, Prince and Pirate costumes - I even saw a dinosaur and Spiderman.
The cast is outstanding and do an incredible job of interacting with the children and audience. Muddles, the narrator, a court jester, is an absolute delight. My boys can't stop talking about him.  I heard them laughing their hearts out in their room the other day and I asked what was so funny, and they said "Oh we are just thinking about Muddles, and all the funny stuff he does"
I highly recommend getting tickets for this show, it is a great family date night that will be remembered with lots of laughs and smiles.

Lythgoe Family Productions produces fun, musical theatre the whole family can enjoy. Known for their creativity and involvement in television hits American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance, the Lythgoes are dedicated to bringing affordable theatre to families across America.  Bringing the longstanding British tradition of pantomimes to the United States, Los Angeles area audiences know them from Aladdin and His Winter Wish and A Snow White Christmas at The Pasadena Playhouse, and previously A Cinderella Christmas and A Snow White Christmas at the El Portal Theatre.

Based on the Grimm fairytales and others, each story has been modernized with topical scripts for parents and well known pop songs for kids. The Lythgoes pride themselves on creating a memorable experience families can share together.

The show includes the family musical interactive fun that LFP is known for, with beloved fairytale characters singing well known pop songs; from Snow White singing Katy Perry’s “Firework,” to Aladdin singing One Direction’s “That’s What Makes You Beautiful,” and the Sheriff of Nottingham’s own rendition of Lady Gaga’s “Applause.”   Everyone will be singing along and dancing in the aisles!  So come cheer your favorite Princess and Boo! Captain Hook as he tries to spoil the fun.

LFP producer Kris Lythgoe said, “Princess and Pirates Live is a Panto style sing-a-long concert, the perfect way to introduce children to theatre.  There will be swashbuckling sword fights and magic wands and tiaras, the perfect day out with your kids this summer.”

In addition to Director and Choreographer Spencer Liff, the creative team for PRINCESS AND PIRATES Sing-a-long Concert includes musical supervision by Michael Orland (American Idol), book by Kris Lythgoe, scenic and costume design by Lythgoe Family Productions.   PRINCESS AND PIRATES Sing-a-long Concert is produced by Kris Lythgoe and Becky Lythgoe.
