New businesses to try out with Macaroni mom discounts
Wow, I know it was only a week but it feels like forever that I have written anything, so I will try not to blab on and on. I had taken last week off to just relax and catch up on house stuff (like making a baby book, and tackling some of those items forever on the to-do list) but we had a big health scare with the baby (the doctor heard a heart murmur at his check up) but after a weekend of worry and way to much Internet "research" we got the news that he is okay and that it is just part of him. So, needless to say I have been on quite an emotional roller coaster this week (I think I actually cried more once the doctor said that he was fine) and I didn't get any of those little projects done but one of these days I will.
In between the craziness I was lucky enough to try a few new places and products and wanted to share them with you:
MaidSparkle- A Green Housecleaning Service (click HERE for details)
Bru Wiffle- A fun new family friendly breakfast and lunch spot (Click HERE for Review & Coupon)
Nail Garden- A peaceful new nail salon in Brentwood (Click Here for detail and Discount)
We also have a deal for the Dane Zanes Concert coming next week to UCLA (Click Here)
Tips from Sleepy Planet on how to handle the time change (it is this weekend)
Our new Business Directory (email me if you would like your business included- You can get in for FREE in March)
Have a wonderful week-

Bru's Wiffle- A Waffle Joint
Fun New Place to Eat
YUM- There is a new breakfast and lunch spot that we recommend you check out- Bru's Wiffle, A Waffle Joint. It is a cute, bright and kid friendly spot, right across from Douglas Park and the Pump Station in Santa Monica at 2408 Wilshire Blvd. We were invited to come have lunch and everything we tried was delicious, and we tried A LOT! Mini waffles (vanilla and chocolate with dino sprinkles), a roasted veggie sandwich and a dairy free sweet potato soup that was to die for. Their menu is like nothing you have ever seen, from savory waffles like Pizza Waffles, Chili Cheese, and Sliders Waffles to sweet ones like chocolate, banana pecan and blueberry. There really is something for everyone, and I can't wait to go back and try more.
Bru's is offering Macaroni Kid readers 10% off with the flier Click HERE to print- Let me know what your favorite waffle is too!
Enjoy!
MAIDSPARKLE
I feel like I am always cleaning up my house and it is still a mess. There are so many other things I need and want to be doing…enter the amazing new MAIDSPARKLE Team. I was so excited to learn about this local mom's new company and have them come out and tackle my ravaged house (I was a little nervous that they would run screaming for the hills). The two women did an amazing job and were so sweet when my son tried to sword fight with ...
Nail Garden
Two weeks ago I was invited to come and check out the new Nail Garden Nail Salon in Brentwood Gardens (where CPK, Madison and Ron Herman are). First, let me say my manicure and pedicure STILL look amazing and yes, that was 2 weeks ago with 1 million dishes washed, loads of laundry done and dressing and playing with my kids. I got the Shellac manicure, which if you have not gotten yet you have to try. What is great about this salon and unlike other salons in town they ...
Spring Ahead Without Falling Behind on Sleep
Daylight Savings is this Sunday, March 13th.
Before bed, turn clocks ahead 1 hour. If your child normally sleeps till 6:30 AM, the next morning she will likely sleep till 7:30 AM. Her entire schedule - naps and bedtime - will then shift one hour later.
If you're happy about this change, great! Just protect her room from too much light in the early morning, and use white noise so she won't wake with the birds.
If you'd rather help your child get back to her usual schedule, try the following:
